Bible League is partnering with 11 Christian radio stations across Australia this year in our Bringing Hope Behind Bars campaign. This is a great opportunity to shine God’s light and plant 3,500 Prison Bibles to bring hope in Aussie jails.
“Then the godly people will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and give you food? When did we see you thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you with no place to stay and welcome you into our home? When did we see you without clothes and give you something to wear? When did we see you sick or in prison and care for you?’ “Then the king will answer, ‘The truth is, anything you did for any of my people here, you also did for me. Matt 25:37-40 ERV
Bible League has worked with a translation team to specifically design the Prison Bible for prisoners. The text is easy to read and understand. In addition, 52 lesson plans enable prisoners to hold a weekly Bible study within the confines of any prison setting. The lessons teach about topics such as:
- Following Jesus Inside of Prison;
- Seeking Forgiveness from Those You Have Hurt;
- Coping with Prison Noise;
- Understanding Compulsive Behaviour
- Preparing for Release, and so much more.
It provides the inmate with other features such as:
- A goal setting chart,
- Scripture references to help deal with negative emotions,
- An address book for family and friends.
“As a member of a team visiting a Prison, it’s been a delight to see prisoners being saved. One guy, ‘Scotty’, he came to know Jesus and I gave him a Prison Bible. I’ve followed his progress as he has completed his parole and sentence, against all the expectations of the authorities, and now is working and becoming actively involved in a local church. We’ve texted regularly for two years. It’s interesting to check over these messages and see steady spiritual growth reflected.” Lance – Volunteer in Prison Ministry
‘We are so excited to be partnering with Christian Radio Stations around Australia to make a real and lasting difference in thousands of prisoners’ lives’ says Hilton Edwards, CEO of Bible League. ‘This continues the great work we have done in prisons over the past 4 years,’ he adds. In partnership with 11 radio stations this year, we want to see many of the 43,000+ inmates receive their very own copy of God’s Word.
The Prison Bible talks a prisoner’s language, helping them see that there is a Loving God Who Cares about them and loves them.
Our goal: 3,500 Prison Bibles.
Partner with us today and Bring Hope Behind Bars. Every $15 donated will provide an inmate with their own Bible.
