2025 marks the 10th year of Bible League’s Bringing Hope Behind Bars campaign—a milestone of bringing the life-changing message of God’s Word to inmates across Australia. With over 42,000 prisoners currently in custody, we see more opportunities to reach those searching for hope, meaning, and a new beginning.
This February and March, Bible League is once again partnering with 17 Christian radio stations across Australia. Together, our goal is to provide 4,000 Bibles to prisoners, supporting their journey toward redemption and transformation. Each Bible is $20—a gift that, thanks to your generosity, can change lives just like Sherrie’s.
Sherrie’s Story: A Journey of Redemption
Sherrie’s path has been one of resilience through immense hardship. Raised in a challenging environment, she faced trauma that affected her deeply into adulthood. After her father’s passing, Sherrie struggled with addiction and endured years of an abusive relationship. Eventually, her choices led her into prison.
In prison, Sherrie was given a Bible, made possible through the generosity of someone like you. As she explored God’s Word, she encountered hope and peace like she had never known. Volunteers from Prison Fellowship walked with her, offering prayer, guidance, and a steadfast reminder that she was not alone. Today, Sherrie reflects on how God has healed her and strengthened her faith, allowing her to grow and thrive as a testament to His grace and redemption.

Bible League’s Prison Bible Project, Bringing Hope Behind Bars, uses this opportunity to shine God’s light into the lives of prisoners in Australia.
“The Spirit of the Lord God is on me. The Lord has chosen me to tell good news to the poor and to comfort those who are sad. He sent me to tell the captives and prisoners that they have been set free. He sent me to announce that the time has come for the Lord to show his kindness, when our God will also punish evil people. He has sent me to comfort those who are sad”. Isaiah 61:1-2 ERV
Bible League has worked with a translation team to specifically design the Prison Bible for prisoners. The text is easy to read and understand. In addition, 52 lesson plans at the beginning of the Bible teach about topics such as:
