In Australia, the population of Indigenous people is around 800,000. This number is growing and is expected to reach 1 million by 2031.
Bible League are aware of the opportunity to support these Indigenous people groups and ensure that they have equal opportunities to hear the Gospel and Word of God.
Currently, we offer resources to support Indigenous Australians for whom English is not their mother tongue. These resources include both the Christmas and Easter stories. The Plain English Version (PEV) has been translated with the aim of being more easily understood.
The 11 resources offered are:
- God Made Everything
- Jesus Died and Came back to Life Again
- God’s Son came to earth
- Mark wrote This Good News about Jesus
- Letter that Paul Wrote to the Christians at Roman
- Ephesus, Philippi and Colossae
- Christians at Thessalonica
- The 2 Letters that Paul wrote to Timothy
- The Letter that James wrote
- The 2 Letters that Peter wrote
- How to become one of God’s Family
These resources are offered at no cost to the recipient. Your contribution to this ministry will enable Indigenous People to hear and engage with God’s Word.
Please give generously to support Bible League’s ministry, and provide Indigenous Australians with God’s Word.
The Prisoners Journey, Aboriginal Edtion- The Gospel of Mark
In partnership with Prison Fellowship Australia, The Prisoner’s Journey, Aboriginal edition was created to support incarcerated Indigenous Australians. Currently, Aboriginal people represent 3% of Australia’s population but the population of Australian prisons is made up of 27% of Aboriginal Australians.
The Prisoner’s Journey, Aboriginal Edition is a culturally relevant format, with beautiful, specially designed Aboriginal artwork and plain English to explain the story of Jesus.
The course is well-placed to meet the needs for many Aboriginal prisoners in this new format. The program is the culmination of 12 months’ work in partnership.
