CHURCH PLANTER TRAINING

What is Church Planter Training?

Church Planter Training (CPT) equips local Christians to start healthy, Bible-centred churches—especially in places where no church exists yet. It combines practical training with on-the-ground mentoring so “planters” can share the Gospel, gather new believers, and form sustainable congregations in their own communities.

How does Church Planter Training Work?

One-year pathway: CPT is a year-long, Bible League vocational program that blends classroom learning with hands-on practice. Experienced church planters serve as trainers, teaching what they themselves have done.

Five practical steps to a new church: Over the year, planters are guided through a simple process—evangelise, gather, disciple, organise, and launch—adapting the approach to local culture (e.g., home groups, door-to-door, or friendship networks, depending on what fits).

Scripture at the centre: CPT integrates Bible League’s Project Philip evangelism and discipleship studies (and, where helpful, Bible-based Literacy) so new believers can understand God’s Word, grow in faith, and become part of a church family.

What do Church Planters do?

Share the Gospel in ways people can understand and respond to.

Host small-group Bible studies (often using the Gospel of John for evangelism and follow-up discipleship studies).

Form a new congregation from these groups, helping people commit to worship, fellowship, and mission together.

Who can become a church planter?

CPT is for committed Christians affirmed by their church leadership who have a heart to reach their community. Trainers coach planters through real-life ministry, not just theory.

What does CPT cost participants?

Bible League provides the training and core study resources so cost is not a barrier in under-resourced contexts, as part of our commitment to resource the local church.
