As revival stirs …you can be a source of hope in your own back yard

Recently we shared Les’ story in your July The Source, about how God restored his health and marriage. Les had been robbed, beaten and left for dead. He was taken to a hospital, and that’s where God spoke to him. Les says:

“I heard a voice that said, ‘You’re not dead, brother. You’re still alive. I want you back.’”

Now Les takes every opportunity to share his story and tell others about the power of God at work in his life … and his testimony is part of a great revival sweeping the nation.

Les’ story is just one of thousands – and you help make such transformation possible as you bring God’s Word to Indigenous communities.

Right now, a spirit of revival is stirring in many Indigenous communities. Local churches and ministry organisations are crying out for more copies of the Plain English Version resources to disciple new believers, families, children and inmates so they can engage with God’s Word in ways they understand.

As you help provide God’s Word, you’ll change lives with Jesus’ love.

You’ll help bring God’s peace and freedom to so many who are in the most difficult circumstances. Tim Letcher, Wyclffe and Scripture Union, Central Australia, said “I was sitting down with a young guy last week reading through some of (Gospel of) Mark in the Plain English Version. He hasn't done a whole lot of school but was able to read it fairly easily. Its readability is a massive plus. Actually, I read the first story and then he just proceeded to keep reading. He read about two chapters by himself to me which amazed me.”

Imagine how you can help more people meet the Prince of Peace as you help provide Bibles for those who are searching for the hope of the Gospel.

Last year, friends like you helped place thousands of Plain English Version resources in Indigenous communities across Australia. And now God is opening doors for more – more support for the local church, more Plain English Version resources made available, more lives changed in your own back yard.

Currently the Plain English Version resources are being used for speakers of Maung, Kriol, Warlpiri and Alyawarr amongst other languages. Every day more men, women and children are learning to live the right way of life through His Word.

Your support can be a source of God’s light shining through His Word to show thousands of people how to live a new life, filled with His grace, peace and love. As the Apostle Paul wrote:

“All Scripture is given by God. And all Scripture is useful for teaching and for showing people what is wrong in their lives. It is useful for correcting faults and teaching the right way to live.” (2 Timothy 3:16 ERV)

PRAY for believers like Les as they continue to receive and share God’s Word in their homes and communities. Pray for a great outpouring of the Spirit and for lives to be transformed through their witness.

The ministry of Bible League Australia is able to plant God’s Word solely through the generous support of the Christian community.

Give your best today to help provide 23,700 Plain English Version resources so more Indigenous Australians can know Jesus’ love.
